Debby Gagnon, a 36-year resident of Canyon Lake and owner of Pack, Wrap, & Post, announced her retirement from the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Gagnon has been a member of the chamber for 20 years, serving most of those years as a board member. The chamber honored her in December during the city’s State of the City Address.

The chamber has recognized Gagnon with several awards during the past 20 years, including Business of the Year and Member of the Month. In 2008, Gagnon was named Volunteer of the Year.

Thirty-five years ago, Gagnon took over Mail World and renamed it Pack, Wrap & Post. It had 12 mailbox rentals. Today, Pack, Wrap & Post is an official United States Contract Postal Unit and offers more than 200 mailbox rentals, including certified and international mail services, registered mail, notary services, stamps, packing and shipping supplies, document scanning, and more.

For Gagnon, it has always been about being a small business owner and giving back to the community. She has helped to organize numerous annual events, including the city’s Veterans Day Celebration and the chamber’s Oktoberfest and Parade of Frights.

In May, the Canyon Lake City Council recognized Gagnon as its Citizen of the Month and honored her for her volunteer work within the community.

Gagnon said she will remain a member of the chamber, just not as a board member.
