Lieutenant James Rayls of the Riverside Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday provided the Canyon Lake City Council with a public safety update for the month of March.
According to Rayls, deputies responded to 321 calls for service in Canyon Lake in the month of March. Overall, 10 Part One crimes were reported and 11 arrests were made.
There were three aggravated assaults, two burglaries, three thefts, and two motor vehicle thefts. Deputies made five DUI arrests and one public intoxication arrest.
Deputies wrote four traffic citations and investigated six traffic collisions.
Police services are provided by the City of Canyon Lake through a contract with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Residents are reminded to contact the police department, not Canyon Lake Community Patrol, for incidents pertaining to the law. For emergencies, call 911. Community Patrol services are provided by the Canyon Lake POA and can assist with incidents such as barking and loose dogs, illegal fishing, loud noise complaints, motorcycle riding in the community, speeding vehicles, parking violations, and other non-emergency incidents.
