Grace Ward is a member of the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club, Senior Chair Volleyball Club, Travel Club, the newly formed Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club, and the Senior Center Work Group.
In the Woman’s Club, Grace serves as the chair of Sunshine and Shadows and sends cards to members who are ill, suffering a loss, or need a pick-me-up.
In the Travel Club, Grace serves on the Social Committee and has helped to organize several of the club’s social events.
The Canyon Lake Board of Directors recently appointed Grace to serve as the treasurer of the Senior Center Work Group. She also serves on the Senior Center Holiday Boutique Committee.
In the newly formed Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club, Grace serves as the co-chair of Membership.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Grace has made over 400 face masks and helped to distribute approximately 600 face masks to Canyon Lake seniors. “I’m retired and am blessed to have the time and the ability to give back to my community,” said Grace.
When not volunteering, Grace enjoys traveling, sewing, and quilting. She is a member of the Valley Quilt Guild and the Canyon Lake Sewing Group. She made her first entry into the Valley Quilt Guild’s Quilt Show in February and won the Past President’s Choice award.
Grace and her husband, Barry, have been married for 45 years. They both retired in 2016. In 2017, Grace and Barry relocated from Starkville, Mississippi, to Canyon Lake to be closer to their children and three grandchildren.
