Petting zoo, magician added to Canyon Lake Park Hopper event

The Canyon Lake POA added a petting zoo and a magician to its Park Hopper event, which will take place this weekend at several locations around Canyon Lake. In addition to the Park Hopper event, the city is hosting a memorial ceremony on Saturday to honor fallen heroes, the Helping Hands Group is hosting a Canned Food Drive, and the Bible Club is holding a sunset service.

The Park Hopper kicks off tonight with a movie at the pool. The event schedule is as follows:

Friday, May 28

Pool
Movie Night: The movie Shark Tale will start at dusk. (approximately 8 p.m.)

Saturday, May 29

Holiday Harbor Park
Food Trucks: Starting at 10 a.m.
Vendor Fair: Starting at 10 a.m.
Rock the Boat Concert featuring Inland Empire rock band Black Rock Candy: 12 to 3 p.m. (The amphitheater will be open but the band will be facing the lake and performing for those in boats)

Indian Beach
Food Truck: Starting at 10 a.m.
Vendor Fair: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Family Activities: Starting at 10 a.m.
Reptile Show: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
DJ: Starting at 1 p.m.
Movie in the Park: Dusk (approximately 8 p.m.)

Sierra Park
Classic Car Show: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Food Truck: Starting at 10 a.m.
Vendor Fair: 11 a.m.

Lodge
Vendor Fair: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Main Lake
ShowCal Skiers Ski Show: 3 – 4 p.m. (Main Lake in front of Sunset Beach will be closed during the show)

City Event

The city is hosting a small ceremony honoring fallen heroes on Saturday, May 29, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park in the Towne Center. This event will feature Mayor Castillo placing a wreath at the memorial while a bugle player performs Taps, speaker Assemblyman Kelly Seyarto, a military vehicle for photo opportunities, and complimentary coffee and donuts. City staff will be present to promote the city’s Military Banner Program and to accept signups for veterans who wish to be recognized at the city’s Veterans Day Celebration in November.

Canned Food Drive

Helping Hands Group of Canyon Lake will be collecting canned food on Saturday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge and on Sunday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sierra Park. 

Helping Hands Group is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization that offers assistance in the form of long-term and immediate relief with food, clothing, guidance, hands-on support, and prayer.

Sunset Service

The Canyon Lake Bible Club invites the community to its sunset service on Sunday, May 30, at 6 p.m. at the amphitheater at Holiday Harbor Park. The community is invited to attend.
